The hero known as Bilskirnir should be considered a moderate-to-high threat to Crey operations due to his rapidly increasing power level and somewhat erratic and unpredictable behavior.

Bilskirnir was born Erik Johansen in the suburbs of St. Paul, MN. Research is still being conducted into his early life, but early findings indicate several conflicts with local youth and incarcerations for minor offenses. His troubled youth seems to have come to an end, however, when Johansen took part in a high school boxing team. This interest in pugilism and the attention of his grandmother (a first-generation Swedish immigrant) seems to have mellowed the younger Johansen and given him the stability needed to finish high school.

Public records become sketchy after Johansen's graduation from high school. Applications to colleges in Minnesota and Wisconsin and assorted trade schools have been uncovered, but there is no record of his attending a post-secondary institution for more than one year.

Promotional boxing posters have been forwarded to the research department with photos of Johansen fighting with the title "Viking Raider." Analysis of the boxing league's records, as well as key interrogations of officials from that era indicate that Johansen was climbing boxing's hierarchy until he met a promoter suspected of assaulting women who attended the matches. Said promoter was found bloody and battered inside a police station lobby in Kansas City, MO clutching a signed confession in broken fingers. Johansen subsequently disappeared from the boxing circuit.

IRS records confirm that Johansen was working as a bouncer in an Eu Clair, Wisconsin bar called Harry's at the start of the Rikti invasion. Witnesses have confirmed that Harry's is where Johansen first encountered the hero Bloodpath (see Affiliated Heroes for more information) when he came crashing through the wall on the back of a Rikti scout. Most witnesses have confirmed that Johansen saw to their safety before turning to assist Bloodpath with a pool cue. The cue was of little use, but Johansen did provide enough of a diversion for the injured bloodpath to subdue the scout and two other Rikti before he passed out from blood loss.

Johansen then struck out for Minnesota to see to his grandmother in the wake of the invasion. Bloodpath accompanied him on this journey, and the two formed a close bond. Upon arriving in the Twin Cities area, Bloodpath went his own way (see "Affiliated Heroes"). Johansen found that his grandmother had been killed during a Rikti assault and her house razed.

At this point Johansen again drops out of sight.

In April of 2004 Johansen's name appears in Chicago, IL police records as a "person of interest" in the beatings of several homeless people. Conversation with the investigating officer reveals that Johansen was himself homeless at the time, and had taken it upon himself to defend several weaker transients in disputes over squatting places.

Chicago is also where Johansen received his energy powers. Researcher Daniels followed the subject to a tavern in King's Row where she recorded him telling the following story:

Looking for a place to sleep one night, Johansen found several yards of fabric in a dumpster outside the Eternogenics building. He wrapped himself in the fabric and drifted off to sleep unaware that the cloth had been used in mystical rituals performed by the priests of Mandum de Caelum (see "Affiliated Heroes") inside the building.

The fabric was saturated with oils and magical energies, and as the priests continued their efforts to transform Robert Sampson inside the building (see "Affiliated Heroes"), the lightning caused by their rituals struck down into the sleeping Johansen and the mystical fabric covering him.

The next morning Johansen awoke to a burning inside his body. As he stumbled out of the alleyway, he caught sight of a towncar pulling into the Eternogenics building's underground garage. Through the car's back window he saw the face of Michael deLupe (aka Bloodpath - see "Affiliated Heroes"). Johansen stumbled down the ramp of the parking garage to the locked gate in time to see deLupe brought out of the car in restraints by armed guards.

Determined to help the man who had saved him in Wisconsin, Johansen entered the Eternogenics building. Armed guards moved to intercept the transient him as he felt the burning sensation inside his body build to an almost unbearable level. With a roar Johansen "released" the feeling from his body...

Research into electrical events for the city of Chicago reveals a report from Commonwealth Edison in 2004. The report describes explosions at power substations within a four-mile diameter area around the Eternogenics building. At the time this event was attributed to faulty maintenance.

Feeling weak and shaken, Johansen moved from the smoking ruins of the Eternogenics lobby to the stairs. He found himself on an upper floor of the building, where he heard what he described as "strange musical voices." He could not comprehend what he saw - luminous beings with wings in conference with an older man wearing priestly vestments.
In the shadows of the chamber where this conference was taking place he saw other people in dark brown robes with glowing green eyes. The priest did not seem to acknowledge their presence.

Moving away from the strange meeting Johansen encountered more people in strange robes. While he didn't hear much of their conversation, he did hear that the "operation was proceeding as planned."

At that point, he was apprehended by Eternogenics guards. At the direction of the High Bishop Johansen had previously observed the guards placed him in a basement holding cell, where he met deLupe and Sampson (see "Affiliated Heroes). After relating his story, the three escaped from Eteronogenics and struck out for Paragon City.

Since arriving Johansen has taken the name Bilskirnir, a reference to the legendary hall of Thor the thunder god of Norse mythology. He seems to be just as dedicated to recreation and a "party" lifestyle as he is to battling the various villain groups populating the city. He seems to throw himself into these activities with the same ferocity as he brings to his conflicts.

It is our recommendation that surveillance be increased on this subject and that his threat level be elevated to moderate - high.
