History:
Rufus Kohl was the lead singer to the eighties hair-band, Ruffian. After having several of the band's songs show up on a recent, popular film's soundtrack, the band decided to get together for a comeback tour.
After the first few concerts Rufus' history of chemical self-abuse must have caught up with him as he began to resort to using several super-serum derivatives to get him through each night's show. After a few weeks the chemical cocktail began having a mutagenic effect on his body.
During the middle of his last concert, Rufus, who had already grown taller and more massive, began growing hair and claws on stage. The crowd thought the spectacle to be part of the show but began to panic when Rufus jumped onto the floor in a rampage.
After being subdued by the arrival of several costumed avengers, Rufus, in a much calmer state, decided the life of a superhero would put him back in the public eye more quickly than being an old rock star. Donning a costume Rufus renamed himself Ruffian, after the band he started, and took to the streets of Paragon.
Psychology:
Ruffian is quite a self-centered individual and a glory hound. Ruffian is a classic histrionic who thrives only when he is in front of a crowd. He often exaggerates his exploits, especially to the media, and seems more focused on his public image than on fighting crime.
Threat Summary:
Ruffian is a braggart and a fool. It is unlikely that he will be a threat to any criminal organization in Paragon.
