Percival Anselm (aka the Fire Knight) is growing increasingly dangerous. This bosier includes a brief history, identification photos, and a description of his motives.
Compiled history
1438 - 1453 (reborn) 1453 - *
1424 - Birth in a family of peasent status in England. The mother was killed in labor.
1438 - Percival was taken by the king's soldiers against his father's will to be trained as a footsoldier in the war. His father was killed for resisting the soldiers.
1439 - Percival began training as a night's squire.
1446 - Percival granted a company at less than half strength during a battlefield commision. He suceeded and managed to withdraw his troops without further casualties.
1453 - That same company was with Percival in the Battle of Castillon as he served under the General John Talbot. This is where the now-hero fell for the first time.
Motive
Recovered transcripts found in French monastaries were once thought fiction. As a result of furtherinspection, many of these scrolls seem to refer to directly speak of Percival Anselm. This brief summary should be adequate.
His mother killed in child labor and his father killed by the soldiers who came to collect him, Anselm was living out a frightening childhood. When his training was complete and he was made a squire, he began to plot his escape from his current accommodations. His wish came true when his Sire fell in battle and he immediately took control of the situation, calling for a retreat in a gradual fashion.
He was granted control over his company and began to form bonds with his men. They were fairly successful and grew infamous to the french and quite popular in England. However, Anselm never accepted leave and was eventually placed under the command of John Talbot at Castillon. There the assembeled army attacked a fortified position because they would attack with the tactiful advantage, i.e. from the east instead of the west which they were not expect to do and they would attack at night to cover their movement.
However, they were betrayed by one of Anselm's own men. Their charge to the castle the next night was more of a massacre than a battle. High upon the battlements, the entire garrison revealed a new weapon the english had not expected them to have access to: Firearms.
In a rain of fire, Anselm watched his company around him fell under the fires as he alone made it to the moat. He was dumbfounded as the leader called the retreat as another army of cavalry rode to cut off the retreat and pin them down beneith the fire of the guns.
Anselm was no more invincible than the rest. He was wounded, and as he died, he looked up at the battlements and saw his own squire above him firing down on the last of his men. Rage took him and, taking his blade, cut himself in the ritual Norse style swearing his revenge. Suddenly, his body was engulfed in flames and he disapeared from the battle field.
Powers
When Anselm swore his revenge, he was granted immortal life until his revenge was exacted. He had unwittingly gained the favor of Loki, and, though Balder had forbidden it, Loki granted Anselm the power to control the fires of his hate. Loki did not truely comprehend the power of his hate, though and did not expect the result of what he did. The love for his men and the anger that contolled him as they died granted Anselm immortal life and power over all fire and the ability to create it.
However, he never had a chance to confront his betrayer squire. The squire himself was killed by the french when he again attempted to betray and return to his home in England. So, the hero wanderes the earth in depressed angry, and with the blessing of Loki, god of chaos.
