Yuriko, aka "The Iriomote Cat," is the the Japanese/American daughter of Capt. Thomas Jones, who was stationed for an extended stint of duty in Okinawa, Japan. It is believed Capt. Jones was involved top-secret ov't experiments, which lead to him passing mutated genes on to his only daughter, Yuriko.
While living in Okinawa, Yuriko developed an affinity for the reclusive Iriomote Cat. Whether this affinity focused the direction of her developing mutant powers, or was the caused by them, is unknown. Regardless, Yuriko began to develop increasingly super-human reflexes. Combined with her interest in kendo, and latter various schools of katana wielding, this has made Yuriko into a substantial threat in close range combat.
After her father retired, her family moved back to the United States. While her motives are unclear to us, it appears that at this time she chose to come to Paragon City, dawning the mantle of the mysterious species of Okinawan feline.
