 “Another long day in the lab.” He thought as he headed out, dropping his pencil on the table and laying his notes next to it. “I’m getting close, another week or two and I just may be able to perfect the system.”
Dr. Croix had been spending a lot of time lately working on his latest project. Over the last several months his powers had really begun to come into their full effect, growing in strength and precision. Just recently he had restored a device that allowed him to use his powers much more quickly. His recovery rate was nearly doubled making him much more effective against the foes he has been encountering.
The 5th column and Devouring Earth had proved to be invaluable resources to his research. Some of the equipment and information he had recovered and seized had proven invaluable. The technology rivaled what he had access to in the Crey facility and occasionally surpassed it.
Ketic had also been spending much of his time dealing with the radiation that has consumed his body. Focusing this energy he is now able to infect an enemy making him easier to hit and less likely to hit his opponent. Also now he has learned to control it for healing of his allies and to temporarily infect them making their natural metabolism faster. A great boost to their recovery rate.
“If only I could sustain the molecular constants,” he thought as he walked to his room. “They just seem to become unstable when exposed to the natural atmosphere.” Laying down on his bed his thoughts quickened, retracing all his steps and formulas, searching for the answer to his latest query. “Why does it burn so quickly? There must be something in the formula that makes the DNA so unstable and causes the combustion to quicken.”
Dr. Croix slipped into sleep, still pondering, wondering how he could solve the problem.
