“Who would have guessed that the Rikti would have been so useful!” Ketic thought as he delicately extracted a sample of blood from one of the Rikti monkeys.
His eyes gleamed with anticipation as he walked across the lab and began the mutagen sequence. “Now, let’s see what happens.”
It seems that the Rikti DNA sequence allows for much more aggressive alterations while still remaining stable. It is extremely likely that the Rikti have not always been the way they are. More likely that they are a highly evolved and mutated species, only now a shadow of what they used to be. Because of this history, they make for wonderful contributors to mutagen research and DNA recombination.
Ketic added the sample to the rest of the serum that had been pre-prepared. He then heated it to approximately 800 degrees. “I knew it!” He shouted. “They’re stable, a live sample and looking good.”
For the final step of his project he inserted the serum into a Molecular Accelerometer. This would prepare them for “birth” so to speak. Once born from this machine he only needed to release them through his body and super heat them. He would do this by injecting the serum intravenously and summon them just as easily as he did the flames he had become accustomed to.
“This may sting a little.” He jokingly mumbled as he injected himself with the serum. With a twitch of the head and a passing moment he stood, raised his arms above his head and let loose the flames that welled inside of him.
“Ahh, my little imps!” Proudly he looked down at the flaming monkeys he had made. “You’ll come in handy, that’s for certain.”
